Chris Gerard

Chris Gerard is the host of Lost In Transition. When he’s not podcasting, he’s training; and when he’s not training, he’s working on air and in management 106.1 The River in Knoxville, TN. He also quarrels with code in his side business (because that tri bling ain’t free, yo!). He started racing in 2013 and continues to run triathlons and distance running races at a rate that will probably prevent him from ever having spare cash.

A former President of the Rocky Top Multisport Club,  Lost in Transition co-host Lana Burl has raced in dozens of triathlons near and far over the past six years, appearing on many podiums and twice competed at the USAT Age Group Nationals.  “Triathlon poses endless challenges to body and mind, while delivering life-guiding lessons of commitment, moderation and passion.”  She lives in Knoxville with her husband and two cats and works professionally as a management consultant.

Derek Tingle

Derek is a reformed fat guy turned endurance sports junkie.  He started riding mountain bikes in college but it would be several years later before he took up road cycling and triathlon.  Since starting his triathlon “career”, Derek has competed in distances up to and including a one-and-done Ironman at Lake Placid in 2016.  His passion lies in short and mid course racing which is where his efforts are focused.  Coming to triathlon from mountain biking, it was only natural that he found a love for XTERRA off road tri.  In 2017 he was the XTERRA Southeast Regional points champion and competed in the XTERRA World Championship.  When not training and racing, Derek spends his days as a service consultant along with being a husband to his lovely wife and dog dad to his black lab, Ellie.
