Olympian Katie Zaferes

Fresh off her first WTS overall gold, Katie Zaferes join us to talk about her career and the upcoming race in Rio on August 20th, representing Team USA in 2016 Olympics.

Katie comes from a running background, with several school records set at Syracuse University. She started racing on the WTS circuit in 2013, with seven podium finishes to date. After a breakthrough year in 2015, this year got off to a rough start with a DNF in Abu Dhabi. After just missing an automatic qualification at WTS Yokohama in mid-May, there was some question of whether the Olympic selection committee would award her the spot (as the best candidate mathematically), or give the role to a domestique, who would work in support of teammates Gwen Jorgensen and Sarah True.  A couple weeks later, Zaferes was announced as the third female member of Team USA.

In this interview, we talk about her WTS success, Olympic goals, and why she writes all her race reports in ryhme.
